Star, Jingle & Tinsel
****Please note**** this post contains graphic and upsetting images.
In early December of 2019, two seriously underweight cats, thought to be brother and sister due to their face shape and the fact that they were found in the same area, were brought to us in need of immediate veterinary attention. We decided to name them both Star and Jingle. We took them both down to the Heathside Veterinary Surgery where they were seen and treated.
Star (Grey and White) had a comfortable night, has eaten little and often, but hasn’t perked up in the same way that her sister Jingle (all Grey) did and is quite poorly in the pictures, as you can see.
After a night on fluids, trying to re-gain what she had lost, Jingle was finally discharged and sent to our lovely foster carer Kelly, where she stayed with her sister Star. As we weren’t 100% sure at this point if Star and Jingle were sisters, we put Jingle in a cage to keep her out of harms way in case a fight broke out.
They immediately started kissing through the bars of the cage and it was obvious to see that they were very comfortable around each other.
Kelly, our foster carer made the decision to let Jingle out and they immediately bonded through some good grub. Still looking very skinny though as you can see in the picture above.
After distributing leaflets around the local area where Star and Jingle were found to try and find an owner, we received another phone. Someone in that area reported another cat who looked just like them!! We immediately rushed down to pick him up.
Introducing Tinsel, a very skinny and frightened baby who we found to be in fact, Star and Jingle’s brother!!!
After a bit of loving and treatment at the vets, Tinsel quickly turned around and was settling into the life of luxury after fending for himself for so many weeks.
We thought long and hard about re-introducing him to Star and Jingle and in the end decided against doing so. We decided that the girls were very much settled and will be homed together, if we put Tinsel with them after so many weeks, it wouldn’t be fair to then split them again. So Tinsel enjoyed be spoiled and we decided we would start looking for his forever home after Christmas.
Star & Jingle spent a lovely Christmas break at the amazing Catisfaction hotel in Whiteley, where they enjoyed comfy beds, and long hours of bird watching out the window! Both of them were looking better and better by the day, with their fur growing back nicely and getting fatter by the minute!
Not long after the Christmas break, Star and Jingle were quickly snapped up and are now chilling happily in their new forever home!! And what about Tinsel, well he went off to his forever home too, and has made some new four legged friends.
Seeing these cats happy and healthy in the new homes is why we do what we do. But we can’t continue our work without your support. If you can, please donate whatever you can here. Any amount big or small will go straight into providing care and help for our local cats and kittens.
